Those who are claiming themselves the leaders and providers of women rights in today’s world were in fact the real usurper of women rights from centuries. Women In these civilizations struggled so hard and fight for her rights centuries and centuries even than their male dominant leadership never gave them rights until they need them. After the two world wars when men strength became insufficient in forces and in the other fields of life then they brought women out of house and used her for their different purposes on the name of women rights. If father has more rights and responsibilities economically than women then mother has more rights and responsibilities that balance their rights in all circumstances. If a boy can get education by traveling long distance then girl can also. She has right to go to school and mosque. If women had right to go to mosque for getting education and offer prayers during the period of holy prophet (S A W) and Caliphate than why not she has this right in today’s modern world. Hazat Ayasha(R. A) was the teacher of 8000 companions and she was expert of history, medicine, hadith, literature and law. Once a lady came to Holy prophet (S A W) and said that she was forcefully married   by her father and she is not happy with her husband, the Holy prophet (S A W)   dissolved her marriage then and there and emphasizes for marrying couples by their consent. Above hadith validating the consent of females before marriage and made it compulsory for all Muslim parents. She can also demand to see the person before her marriage and she can also talk to him in the presence of her legal blood relative. Once hazrat Aysha (R. A) showed desire to see the ongoing circus in the street. A) also come with me. † Because of any reason companion replied† no she can’t. † Holy prophet (S A W) also replied â€Å"then I also cannot†. Companion invited Holy prophet (S A W) three times and got same answer from the Holy prophet (S A W) . At last companion said â€Å"yes she can also come with you† then Holy prophet (S A W) accepted invitation and brought her for dinner along him. Therefore bringing wife to dine out is not only encouraged but also SUNNA of Holy prophet (S A W). In addition, to demand separate house for living is also right of wife from his husband. If she does not like to live with the family of her husband then she has complete right to live with her husband in a separate place. Many cruel of our male driven society are considering this right against their ago. So often instead of fulfilling this true right of wife they give diverse or beat their wives for forcefully living with their family like a servant which is completely against Islamic teachings. Furthermore, Islam is not binding women to cook food to do crockery or to wash clothes of her husband. If she refuses to do all this then its not making her guilty in the eyes of almighty ALLAH. But yes, she might be very guilty in the eyes of her husband who brings her for doing all these services for him. Many of Muslim women love to do all these services for their husbands, so their husbands must be thankful for their wives. Subsequently, human being is used to make mistakes. So if there is any conflict arises between husband and wife then husband needs to resolve it first only by consulting her wife. In case matter could not solved by both of them then they need to bring any other family member for consultation. Secrecy is also immensely important for the matrimonial relation of couple. It is duty of husband to keep all secrets of bed relation with her wife. Holy prophet (S A W) said, â€Å"The person who shared his wife bed relations with anybody, he is the worst man and he cannot get even the smell of paradise. Similarly, when conflict between husband and wife became bone of contentions and seems unsolvable. In this case if wife no more wants to live with her husband then she has right to get diverse. In case husband is not willing to give diverse she can consult court for getting diverse. Further, in case of polygamy Islam teaches full justice, equal and fair treatment to all waives. Practically thi s is very hard for a men to keep completely fair balance between all wives therefore it is highly recommended if he is not strong enough financially, physically and morally then he should not gets married even with a single woman. If anyone has more than on wife and he could not maintained just and fair treatment among all wives then he is severely treated by almighty Allah at the Day of Judgment. Adding to it, growing age of fashion makes many minds ultra modern. Now husband wants to look his wife as a model and he forced her to wear dresses according to fashion. In this case Muslim women has right to wear all these dresses which are according to Islamic dress code while going out of house. If her husband forced her to do so she can refuse to her husband to wear any vulgar dress which is against the teachings of Islam. Allah almighty knows all strength and weaknesses of his creatures. He made women physically very sensitive and weak than man. Therefore he shifted all the financial burden of women on men’s shoulder. When she is daughter she is duty of her father. If father died she becomes duty of her brother. When she is wife she is duty of her husband and when she is mother she is duty of her son. In this way she can live her life very comfortably and can take care of house easily. God assigned all the financial requirements of women as a duty of men but even then he does not make women empty hand in economical rights. Before Islam there was no concept of inheritance for women. Islam gave right to women in the inheritance. Women have half of the part as men have in parent’s properties. This does not mean she has half right than man. But as it is mentioned above she does not have any financial responsibility to fulfill as the men have. Therefore she can save or invest her part of the property for her future and making profit. It is also very clear in Islam that her husband can demand a single penny from her wife and she not bound to give anything to anybody. In addition to she can buy property on her own name as a legal person. She can possess property without anybody’s interference. She has complete right on her property as she can sale it, rent out it and can give it to anyone as a gift. Furthermore, wife has right to get dowry from her husband before establishing matrimonial relations. Husband is bound to give her wife dowry at the time of marriage. When Allah almighty created Eve (R. A) for Adam (R. A) . Adam (R. A) was attracted towards Eve (R. A) and wanted to touch her. At that time Allah almighty said to Adam (R. A) that He should not touch her without paying her dowry. One more thing needs attention here that Islam did not fix any maximum limit of dowry. Husband can give whatever maximum he can give to his wife. In region of Hazrat Ummer(R. A) he forward a bill in the parliament for fixing the maximum limit of dowry. That bill was challenged by a female parliamentarian and she said nobody can fix the maximum limit of dowry if Allah himself did fix it. Hazrat ummer(R. A) asked her that why it couldn’t be fixed. She quoted the holy Quran â€Å"If husband gave her wife bundles and bundles of wealth as dowry even then he cannot demand anything after diverse. † Hazrat ummer (R. A) said that she is right and today men made a mistake and women corrected him. Subsequently, maintenance is also on the shoulder of men at her stages of life. Father, brother, husband and son has to give her food clothes and other needs of life respectively. Holy prophet (S A W) said, â€Å"Anyone who brought her daughters with full care and then merry them. He is as close to me as my two fingers. † Maintenance of x-wife is also husband responsibility during the period of Iddah. Some of Islamic scholars agreed that husband has to fulfill his x-wife’s maintenance until her second marriage. In case if any childe from her x-husband then it is also responsibility of child’s father. Moreover, she has right to seek employment. If she wants to do a job and if society needs her then Islam give her full right to seek employment. But if she doesn’t want to do the job then nobody can force her to seek employment. Similarly she has the right to do business and to trade things in order to earn finance. Hazrat Khadija(R. A), Wife of Holy prophet (S A W) said, was the famous business lady at that time. Apart from social and economic securities in Islam, women have also legal and political securities. In the eyes of law she is as legal person as a man. she can be witness but her witness is half of man. It is not because she has half right as an human but due to her sensitive and shy nature. In fact God made her half responsible than man in all legal witnesses. Similarly she has right to vote from first election of Islam. After the election result of hazrat usman(R. A). Hazrat usman(R. A) and hazrat Ali (R. A) got equal votes. Therefore Hazrat abur Rahman bin Auf was appointed as a chief polling agent and assigned the task to get votes of men and women. He did this work three days and ultimately hazrat usman (R. A) elected. Above event proved that women were having the right to vote from the beginning of Islam. Adding to it, women used to work at different legal positions from the start of Islam. During the period of Holy prophet (S A W) women worked in different sectors such as in wars and in hospital. Hazrat Ummer (R. A) appointed hazrat Shifa(R. A)as an administrator and account officer for the market. Hazrat Usman(R. A) made hazrat umm-e-kulsoom an ambassador and sent her to Room. Women has right to be consulted as other family members have right to be consulted. Many people believe that it is folly to act or listen women advise in fact they themselves are disbelievers and unaware to the sunna of Holy prophet (S A W). At the event of Hudabiya Holy prophet (S A W) have consulted hazrat umm-e-Salma and acted on her advice to move on. Comparison between Dulce et decorum est and Rendezvous Essay Dulce et decorum est is a poem about the horror and deception of war. Rendezvous is a poem about the honor, gratitude and patriotism of fighting a war. Rendezvous is also with reference to the inevitability of death at war. Wilfred Owen wrote Dulce ET decorum EST in 1917, he joined the British army in 1915, and he is considered a patriot and despises war. Alan Seeger who joined the French foreign legion in 1914 wrote Rendezvous in 1915. He was very passionate about the war and he appears to have a neutral outlook towards war whereas Wilfred Owen has an opposite view. Rendezvous is a poem in relation to Alan Seegers inevitable death at war and how he may avoid this fate. However he then returns to facing his reality by realizing he must accept it. I believe Seegers view on war to be positive mainly because the way explains the death being scary and horrid but also honorable and gratifying shows contradiction in his points. This is evident in such lines as I have a rendezvous with death this shows that even though he foresees his death he baldly takes the challenge of fighting a war for a reason he sees as honorable. Also in lines such as god knows twere better to be deep down pillowed in silk and scented down this line shows regret for his choice of going to war and contradicts the line I have just stated. The poems contain a theme of death contrasting with life. A normal life cycle runs through four seasons autumn, winter, spring, summer and Alan seeger says his life will end in the winter which is dark and gloomy kind of like hell the line of at midnight in some flaming town, when spring trips north again this year shows the relevance of his writing in contrast to hell and he will not see a new spring which is tranquil and warm with new life beginning again. In contrast, he will be in a dark land because spring trips north making it the uppermost point on the compass, and to far above him to reach, too distant, as he veers toward a different direction in keeping his oath. There is a theme of breath, being symbolized as fullness of life in spring. Pulse nigh to pulse and breath to breath. Whereas he speaks of his own breath being quenched in the second verse, the third line. This theme of lovers is continued with where hushed awakenings are dear, the serenity of waking up calm and warm with someone next to you and by your side, the stark contrast is that he holds a hand too, he is in close relationship with his hand being taken into a dark land, by someone else, possibly God, the pronoun he being chosen rather than the name God, in he shall take my hand. His eyes closing into sleep with this partner, who could also take his breath away, rather than breath along with him, and in other words closely identify with his life in its most basic sense of breathing, and existing. The theme of battle is taken up in lines such as on some scarred slope of battered hill, scars being representative of having fought, and been injured. Slope represents downward descent and being brought down, and of course the word battered which is a clear term of battle. At some disputed barricade again describes battle, the word dispute exemplifying cause for disagreement, barricade exemplifying the inability to get passed or through something, the inability to have overcome the fight and move onwards from it. Could be interpreted as doubt, as to whether there will be any victory, from the writers point of view. He is facing that there may not be, and that he could be appointed to die in war. The structure of both of the poems is quite orderly but Wilfred Owen has got a more recognized structure in that he uses an a-b rhyme scheme and that Alan seeger uses a scheme of rhyming the 1st 2 and last 2 lines. This has no technical name. In a regular rhyme scheme there is 3 stanzas and so is there in both of these poems. The rhythm of Owens poem appears to create a little disorder but in other places the opposite and in seegers poem had similar effect but was not disordered as much.

Metamorphosis Normal? In society today, there are many stereotypes and prejudices against people who do not fit into the norms of society. Society tends to regard these people as outsiders and therefore alienate them from many common social activities. One of the most prominent examples of people who suffer from this alienation are those with the HIV virus, more commonly known as AIDS. AIDS victims suffer through many of the same difficulties and discriminations as the main character in Franz Kafka's short novel The Metamorphosis. Throughout The Metamorphosis, Gregor's family serves to represent society, while Gregor himself serves as a direct representation of anyone who does not fit into the norms of society, in particular those people who suffer from AIDS. In the beginning of The Metamorphosis, the main character, Gregor, is transformed into a bug overnight and soon learns the difficulty of not being normal. He learns to live in a way that does not disturb society, or even his own family. Prior to becoming a bug, Gregor was a hard working salesman who was under appreciated by his family. After his transformation, Gregor is neglected by his family, with the exception of Grete, and the family soon disregards Gregor as one of their own, just as society disregards people who are not normal. Gregor's father can be compared to the abusive people in society. He is the dominant figure of the family and remains abusive throughout the story. The father's aggressiveness is revealed in the beginning of the story when he knocks gently, yet with his fist (217) on Gregor's door. Using his fist to knock on his son's door implies a sense of urgency and aggressiveness in his character. While there are many abusive people in society, at the same time the re are many people who are caring. Grete represents the caring people in society, but even the most caring people can become hateful. She takes on the responsibility of caring for Gregor and maintains that Gregor is still part of the family. However, as the story progresses she becomes irritated with Gregor and views him as a burden to the family. Although having AIDS is not as obvious as being transformed into a bug, AIDS can cause the same devastating effects once it is revealed. The most common fear that people in society have of AIDS is interacting with someone who has the virus. Gregor experienced this same fear of interaction. This fear is most noticeable when Grete is playing the violin for the house guests. Gregor walks in to the living room and, after seeing Gregor, the house guests become upset because of the disgusting conditions (240) of the family. Another similarity between Gregor's illness and AIDS is that there is no cure. Both Gregor and AIDS victims have to live knowing that they cannot change the way they are, which makes them indifferent towards their appearance. By revealing himself to the house guests, Gregor demonstrates this indifference and offends the guests. Both Gregor and AIDS victims learn to live with the many limitations set forth by society. However, these limitations can be overwhelming and extremely exhausting at times. Through his family's reaction, Gregor experiences a common theme in society today; if you are not considered normal by society's standards, then you cannot live a normal life. GFP Transformation Into E Coli Biology Essay Genetic transformation  is the technique of introducing a recombinant DNA into a living cell. In this experiment, we introduced pGLO plasmid into E. Coli bacteria through the heat-shock method. CaCl2 solution was used to make the E. coli cells competent. Intruduction Genetic transformation is the technique involving introduction and expression of foreign(exogenous) DNA in a living host cells. Scientists cut out interested gene from human, plants or animals DNA, insert it into a vector to produce a recombinant DNA and introduce the recombinant DNA into host cells which express the exogenous genes and produce interested proteins under appropriate condition. Demonstrated by Frederick Griffith in 1928, transformation has been applied in various areas of biotechonology. For example, genes coding for human insulin can be genetically transformed into bacterial cells. In this way, genetic transformation allows the production of protein products on a large scale. The introduction of a foreign DNA into a host cell requires the use of a vector. Vectors are small DNA molecules that can be used to combined with foreign genes and transfer them into the host cells. In a laboratory research, plasmid is one of the most commonly used vectors to transform foreign DNA. The recombinant plasmid used in this experiment is pGLO plasmids. pGLO plasmids contain  two genes that are useful: the gene coding for beta-lactamase and the gene coding for the green  ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å¡uorescent protein(GFP). The expression of beta-lactamase gene provides resistance to the antibiotic ampicillin. GFP is extracted from Aequorea victoria (bioluminescent jelly fish). It is a polypeptide consisting of 238 amino acid(Cubitt et al., 1995). For its non-invasive characteristic and capacity of resisting interferences, GFP has been widely used as a visual marker for gene expression for more than 20 years(Gilbert et al., 2000). Even under normal light, GFP presents yellow-green color that can be easily observed. The objects of this experiment were to perform a transformation of E. coli with a plasmid containing the GFP DNA gene and force the GPF to be expressed in a particular environment. In this experiment, we induced E. coli to take in pGLO into their cytoplasm and grew the E. coli cells in different plates. CaCl2 solution is utilized as transformation solution to increase cell membrane  permeability, thus plasmid vectors are able to enter the cell. The ampicillin-resistance gene in the plasmid was utilized as the selectable marker, which means E. coli cells transformed with plasmid are able to grow in an environment with ampicilin. Because the GPF expression is driven by the arabinose-stimulated PBAD promoter, it is expected that the E. coli cells grown in the plate with sugar arabinose would express GPF DNA and present a yellow-green color in the UV light. Materials and Methods Plasmid Transformation Plasmid could be easily taken in by E. coli cells if the cells had been treated with calcium salt. First of all, two micro test tubes were labeled with either +pGLO or -pGLO. Each tube was added with 250ÃŽ ¼L of CaCl2 solution and then placed on ice. A single colony of E. coli bacteria was added into each tube. The cells were dissolved into the solution by gently spinning the tubes. Then both tubes were placed on ice again. After the entire colony was dispersed, the tubes were examined with UV light to make sure that there were no visible green clumps of cells in the solution. Then 10ÃŽ ¼L of pGLO plasmid was added into the +pGLO tube and gently mixed, while no plasmid was added into -pGLO tube. Both tubes were placed on ice for 10 minutes. Following the 10-min incubation, the tubes were heat shocked. Both tubes were transferred into 42 °C water bath for exactly 50 seconds, and then immediately placed back on ice for 10 minutes. The heat shock process must be rapid. After heat shock, 250ÃŽ ¼L of Luria broth (LB) were added to each tube and the tubes were placed at room temperature for 10 minutes. Selection of GFP Transformation To grow and select the cells with GFP DNA, four agar plates were obtained: 1 LB, 2 LB/AMP and 1 LB/AMP/arabinose. Among them, 1 LB/AMP plate and 1 LB/AMP/arabinose plate were labeled with +pGLO, while 1 LB plate and 1 LB/AMP plate were labeled with -pGLO. 100ÃŽ ¼L of cells from +pGLO tube was added to each of the plates labeled with +pGLO, while 100ÃŽ ¼L of cells from -pGLO was added to each of the plates labeled with -pGLO. New sterile loops was used for each plate. The whole process was conducted near fire. Then four plates were stached upside down at 37 °C for 24 hours. A photo of the plates were taken in the UV light the next day. Results Figure 1 on the next page shows a photo of four plates. Table 1on the next page illustrates the observation results of each plate. From the photo, we can observe the growth condition of colonies on each of the four plate. The cells grew normally as in natural condition. Plate 1 is a negative control which excludes possible contaminants. In the plate containing LB/amp and E.coli -pGLO(Plate 2), no colonies grew, because the ampicillin  in the medium killed the cells by inhibiting the cell wall from producing. In the plate containing LB/amp/ara and E.coli +pGLO(Plate 3), colonies were grew, because these bacterial cells contains plasmid carrying ampR gene which perform a resistance against ampicillin. Under UV light, the colonies emit green-yellow fluorescence, because the GFP gene on plasmid was expressed in an environment with arabinose. In the plate containing LB/amp and E.coli +pGLO(Plate 4), white colonies were grew because of the presence of ampR gene and absence of arabinose. The presence of ampicillin in the medium is to identify if the E.coli cells have taken in plasmid and thus acquired ampicillin-resistance gene on the plasmid. The results of Plate 4 compared with Plate 2 indicate that E.coli cells have taken in plasmid successfully. The presence of arabinose is to identify if the E.coli cells containing recombinant plasmid successfully inserted with GFP gene. The results of Plate 3 compared with Plate 4 indicate that the plasmid was successfully recombined, thus the cells express GFP under the induction of arabinose. Conclusion In this experiment, GFP transformation in E. coli was perform in order to examine how the recombinant plasmid can be introduced into bacterial cells, incorporated into bacterial genome and express recombinant protein. The experiment shows the expected results, which successfully support the hypothesis.

  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  After the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I, the control of Palestine shifted from Muslim to Western powers. Britain promised Jews and Zionists the land in Palestine in the form of the Balfour Declaration. However, at the same time, there were already Palestinians living in that land. Even today, there is no correct answer as to who should have rightfully acquired the land; however, the Palestinian Arabs should have cooperated when the Jews immigrated to the Palestine. There are plenty of facts which support both sides. The solution can only be determined through one’s opinion.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  According to Biblical sources, Arabs and Israelites first met in Palestine about 1500 to 500 B.C. This time period recognized the beginning of the tradition of the two peoples’ common patriarchs and the cousinly ties between the offspring of Isaac and the children of Ishmael, the sons of Abraham.(Cohen 1)   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Before Islam surfaced, the Jews and the Arabs met in the Arabian peninsula. There was actually a very large Jewish population in the Arabian peninsula before the Prophet Muhammed was known. After the Jews were kicked out of Jerusalem by the Romans following the Second Revolt, a large number of Jews went to the northern area of the Arabian peninsula. The settlements of Jews in the Valley of the Villages were important areas for the wandering and nomadic Arabic tribes. The Arabs actually settled near them under their protection, understanding their traditions, customs, and views of religious and social matters. Before Muhammed, some Arabs even accepted the Jewish doctrine of the â€Å"chosen people† and other basic elements of Judaism. (Cohen 2)   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  However after some time, things started to change. The prophet Muhammed began presenting Islam as a new religion. He even tried converting some Jews into Islam. But when his hopes of winning them over failed, he turned against the Jews. In 626, he attacked the Jewish tribes of Medina and completely destroyed them. This marked the beginning of conflict between the Jews and the Arabs. (Cohen 3) The relationship between the Jews and the Arabs always remained tense. The connection between the two peoples is tense even today. Even with the same enmity, there has been a great deal of change from the beginning of time. Some believe that the Jews really deserved the land in Palestine because it was theirs to begin with. They were forced out of Jerusalem by the Romans. On the other hand, others say that the land is rightfully the Arab’s land. There were Palestinian Arabs who were living there before the Jews were rewarded the land by the British. Why should they give up their land? There is no solution. However, the two peoples could have lived peacefully. The two groups could have lived together if the Arabs had cooperated.
